Members of the public shall be afforded time to comment on any matter germane to the business of the Committee, subject to the following constraints:

  • Members of the public who wish to address the Committee shall sign-in indicating name, address and topic of concern.  (sign-in sheet attached)

  • Such public comment period shall be limited to 30 minutes total under Agenda Item - Public Comment

  • An individual comment period shall be limited to five (5) minutes.

  • Time for such comments shall be assigned on a first-come, first-serve basis as determined by the Chair of the Committee.

  • Multiple members of the public who share a common message are encouraged to select a spokesperson in order to avoid duplication.

 2.      Comment Guidelines

  • When appropriate, matters raised by public comment may be referred to the appropriate staff.

  • The Chair of the Committee may limit or preclude a comment, which is repetitive, redundant, cumulative, or irrelevant to the business of the Committee.

  • If a person is commenting about a problem area within a certified community, the Committee Chair may refer the person to the community’s Stormwater Administrator.

  • Persons addressing the Committee are requested to structure comments to include the following items:  describe the problem; describe the existing conditions; and provide a map or photographs if available.  Speakers are encouraged to submit comments in writing.
