Historic Preservation Commission

Thanks to Certified Local Government grant funding from the Illinois Historic Preservation Agency and in  partnership with the Heritage Corridor Convention and Visitors Bureau, please view our new brochures about Will County's Historic Preservation Commission, Will County's Local Landmark Designation Program, Map of Will County's Historic Landmarks and Will County Rural Historic Structures Survey.

Purpose:

The Historic Preservation Commission (HPC) promotes and assists in the preservation of Will County's rural heritage through the identification, evaluation, and documentation of Will County's historic landmarks, and thereby increases and encourages public awareness of and appreciation for Will County's history and historic landscape.

The Will County HPC meetings are held on the first Wednesday of each month at 7:00 p.m. unless otherwise published.  Meetings are held at the Forest Preserve District of Will County Administrative Center located at 17540 W. Laraway Road, Joliet (click link or see map below).
