You should contact the Will County Mapping and Platting office at 815-740-4664 to determine whether you live in an incorporated or unincorporated area of Will County.  Or you can visit an interactive map at www.willcogis.org.  Just click on the center icon to get started.

How do I subdivide my property in unincorporated Will County?

Please refer to the Subdivision Control Ordinance, Will County Stormwater Ordinance and the Will County Water Resource Ordinances available in the "Ordinances & Other Resources" section along with the Preliminary & Final Plat information located in the "Applications & Instructions" section.

Is the Countywide Stormwater Ordinance available online?

Yes, it is.  Click here to view the online edition of the Will County Stormwater Ordinance.  The file size is approximately 1.4 Mb.

To determine if your property is within a floodplain or wetland, please file an Application for Floodplain & Wetland Determination. You can download a copy here or call 815-740-8140 to have one faxed to you.
