Purpose:
Will County, Illinois receives annual funds from the United States Department of Housing and Urban Development through the Community Development Block Grant Program (CDBG) and HOME Investment Partnerships Program (HOME). The CDBG funds are utilized for infrastructure improvements and to assist community development agencies. HOME provides formula grants to States and localities that communities use often in partnership with local nonprofit groups to fund a wide range of activities that build, buy, and/or rehabilitate affordable housing for rent or homeownership or provide direct rental assistance to low-income people. Both CDBG and HOME receive oversight from an Advisory Board.
