Purpose:
The Code Enforcement Section is responsible for ensuring residences and properties in unincorporated Will County
are maintained in accordance with the Will County Building Ordinance.
The Code Enforcement Division provides general information on property maintenance regulations, conducts inspections of residential properties by complaint, investigates alleged violations, issues violation letters and
(when necessary) refers violations to the
Will County State’s Attorney’s office for prosecution.
Inspectors from the Code Enforcement Section are available to investigate a wide variety of complaints, including (but not limited to):

Dilapidated buildings
- Accumulations of litter, garbage

Building demolition
- Electrical violations

Junk/abandoned vehicles
- Sight obstructions

Illegal kennels/animal hording
Other inspection and enforcement services
are provided by the Zoning Enforcement Section
of the Community Development Division.
